The place
A setting for your story.
An 1850s Victorian house with a walled garden a few minutes from Broadway. Downtown energy outside the gate, and the second you step through it, everything goes quiet. The whole day lives in one place: getting ready in the house, vows in the garden, dancing a few steps away. More of your actual day ends up in the film.
Your voices lead the edit. We still mic everything twice.
Late April through June the garden is in full leaf, and the walls hold soft shade right through ceremony hour; October gives the courtyard its warmest color of the year. Even in high summer this is one of downtown's most forgiving venues for light. The walls do the diffusing for us.
From behind the camera
- Garden vows sit in soft wall shade, no harsh squint light at ceremony time
- String lights read best about 30 minutes after sunset. Save a portrait lap for it
- Getting-ready rooms are steps from the garden, so coverage never has travel gaps
- The walled courtyard is gentle on vow audio. We still run backup mics on everything
- Broadway is a short walk away. Say the word on the planning call and we build a downtown portrait detour into the timeline
- The planning call six weeks out locks the string-light window into your reception timeline, so nobody is chasing light on the day
From morning to night
Let the day unfold.
The morning
Getting ready happens inside the house, so the first frames of the day are window light and quiet rooms. We're rolling long before anyone says places.
The ceremony
Garden vows in wall shade: two cameras on the two of you, a third living on the front rows, and mics on the officiant, both of you, and a backup recorder under it all.
Golden hour
Fifteen unhurried minutes in the courtyard while it glows. Then five more once the string lights win the sky. Both windows are planned, never chased.
The night
Dancing is steps from the garden, so we float between the floor and the courtyard: last dance, exit down the walk, final frame.
