Nashville Wedding Videography FAQ: Your Questions Answered

The day, the films, the planning. The questions couples ask us, answered plainly.

All of them.

The longer answer

All of them. Both options are full-day coverage, whether you choose Bebo or I Do Films Teams. Your filmmaker stays from getting ready to the end of the night.

03

Is one filmmaker enough, or do we need two?

Pros and cons, plainly.

The longer answer

Pros and cons, plainly. This one really is a checklist:

One filmmaker

  • Lighter on the investment
  • About 40 weddings done solo. In the edit, you can't really tell
  • A stationary camera is always set by the altar, so your ceremony is covered

Two filmmakers

  • Two getting-ready locations at once
  • Both reactions at the first look, at the same time
  • Multicam full-ceremony and full-reception edits

If your day doesn't call for a second filmmaker, I'll tell you that. I'd rather you not pay for something you don't need. Choose your filmmaker and we'll figure out which fits.

04

Is drone footage extra?

No.

The longer answer

No. I don't charge for drones. Some people do. I love my drones; I come to a wedding day with, like, four of them. Aerial footage is included on both options whenever the venue and the weather allow, same as full-day coverage, clean professional audio all day, your social teaser, your highlight film, the planning call, and your private film website. Included means included.

05

We're not “camera people.” Will you be directing us all day?

The opposite.

The longer answer

The opposite. We disappear when we need to. Fly on the wall. The wedding film is there to capture the wedding; the wedding is not there for the film. The only time I really put on the director hat is your couple's session, and even then I keep it quick. The day doesn't repeat itself, so I've honed my craft to get the shot the first time.

Here's why it matters: if I point a phone at you and count 3, 2, 1, you'll smile no matter how you feel. Video is continuous. If you're stressed on your wedding day, you'll feel that stress every time you watch your film. So we treat it from the root. Stress-free from start to finish.

06

Do you travel outside Nashville? What about travel fees?

All the time.

The longer answer

All the time. I've filmed weddings from Orlando to Pittsburgh, and in Texas. Nashville and all of Middle Tennessee are home turf. We'll go over travel for your location on the call, in writing, before you ever book.

The promise holds: the price I quote is the price you pay. You won't see a surprise invoice, a card fee or a parking ticket. After you book, the number never moves.

01

How long until we see our film?

About six weeks on average, and your contract caps it in writing at under three months, even in the busiest season.

The longer answer

About six weeks on average, and your contract caps it in writing at under three months, even in the busiest season. We know how much you're anticipating the film after the wedding, and this is our full-time job, not a side gig, so your edit starts right away instead of waiting in line behind somebody's day job. Your teaser and your highlight film premiere together.

Want a film on the wedding day itself? That's the Same-Day Edit add-on: we edit during the day and premiere a film at the reception itself. Couples rewatching their own wedding during the wedding... it's like Inception. Watch recent films and you'll see what arrives in those first weeks.

02

What happens to our raw footage?

It never gets deleted.

The longer answer

It never gets deleted. The weddings I filmed eight years ago. I still have the raw footage. Once it's shot, it's saved. Three true stories:

  1. Five-year re-edit: A couple reached out on their anniversary, and we re-edited their wedding film from the raws.
  2. Lost & found: A couple thought their wedding films were gone; I had a copy and sent it the same day.
  3. In memoriam: When family members pass away, we've gone back into the footage and made films focused on them.

Want a re-edit in 5, 10, or 20 years? We'll do it. That's not fine print. It's how this has always worked.

03

Do we have to share our film online?

No, and I hear this a lot.

The longer answer

No, and I hear this a lot. The priority is: this is your film. If you're the only two people in the world who ever watch it, I'm fine with that. I don't rely on sharing couples' films for my marketing: I'm sort of a marketing geek, so I handle that elsewhere.

Plenty of couples keep the highlight film just for themselves and share only the teaser. Some share nothing at all. Whatever yall decide, that's the plan.

04

We hate how our voices sound. Do they have to be in the film?

Hearing your own voice in a recording can feel strange.

The longer answer

Hearing your own voice in a recording can feel strange. But think about it 30 years from now. What do you want to hear? Your voices are how the feeling comes back: nervous, overjoyed, trying not to cry. I can tell how you feel through your voice even better than your face. That's why your vows, morning letters, and toasts lead the edit, not trending audio.

And if you'd rather keep your voices private, easy. They stay in the film you keep for yourselves, and anything that gets shared goes without them.

05

Do you do photography too?

No, on purpose.

The longer answer

No, on purpose. All we do here is films. I could easily add photography and charge two thousand more for it, but I'm not passionate about it, and you'd feel that in the work. A lot of photo-and-video combo deals mean one of the two is really an add-on.

Instead, I keep a list of photographers I've actually worked wedding days with. You tell me which styles you like, and I make the intro. On the day, photo and video trade moments of leadership: photo leads for about five minutes while we keep rolling, then we swap. Nobody wastes your time.

Raw footageWe never delete the raw footage. Why every wedding we film stays on our drives, in my own words from discovery calls.

01

Is a wedding videographer worth it?

Yes, and here's the frame I give every couple: the flowers wilt, the cake gets eaten, and when the day is over, your photos and your films are the only two things you keep from it.

The longer answer

Yes, and here's the frame I give every couple: the flowers wilt, the cake gets eaten, and when the day is over, your photos and your films are the only two things you keep from it. Video is one of the only two things that stretches that one day across a lifetime. It's how you relive how it felt.

100% worth it to get the video, and even more worth it to do it with I Do Films.Rylee & Cory

If you're comparing studios for the best wedding videographer in Nashville, judge the work, not the pitch: watch real films, read our Google reviews (4.9 average), and decide fully informed.

02

How does payment work?

Everything's online: one link with the invoice, the contract, and the payment portal.

The longer answer

Everything's online: one link with the invoice, the contract, and the payment portal. From there it's a simple schedule:

  1. Booking: 50% locks your date in stone
  2. 4–6 wks out: The balance is due a month to six weeks before the wedding, right around your planning call
  3. Need flex?: Paying a lot of vendors at the same time? We can split it into four payments instead

And there are no credit card fees, so honestly, use the card you're collecting honeymoon points on. See both options for where each investment starts.

03

Can you hold our date while we decide?

Only a paid 50% retainer reserves your date.

The longer answer

Only a paid 50% retainer reserves your date. Sending an inquiry or having a call does not reserve it. You can ask questions and think through the options before deciding.

When you are ready, I’ll check the date again and go over your agreement with you.

04

What's the planning call?

A free call about six weeks before your wedding, included on both options.

The longer answer

A free call about six weeks before your wedding, included on both options. We go over your timeline hour by hour, confirm your edit list, and lock the creative direction: pacing, color, music, songs you love, things to avoid. We always pre-prime before filming or editing anything. I write the timeline up and share it with your photographer too.

After that call, you don't have to think about videography ever again, until you're watching your highlight film.

05

Our budget is under $3,000. Should we still reach out?

Yes, tell us what you have in mind.

The longer answer

Yes, tell us what you have in mind. Choose who films your day, then we can talk through the films and keepsakes that matter to you. Check your date to start that conversation, or explore Packages & Pricing for the starting options.

And if I'm genuinely not the right fit at your number, I'll tell you that too, and point you somewhere honest. Tell us your budget, and we'll show you what we'd build.

06

What's the Golden Ticket?

It's how we say thank you, with something special set aside.

The longer answer

It's how we say thank you, with something special set aside. Holding one right now? Mention it when we talk.

You can also ask about our Save-the-Date film when we plan your film.

07

Is the first call a sales call?

No, and I say it on every call: at the end, I'm not going to ask for your credit card.

The longer answer

No, and I say it on every call: at the end, I'm not going to ask for your credit card. The call is for getting you fully informed.

  1. I ask about your day and your top three non-negotiable moments
  2. You get two or three options customized for you to compare
  3. A soft hold goes on your date while you think. I'll even recommend talking to other videographers

Read what couples say, then let's chat. When's the big day?

Is it worth itYou think you’ll watch your film once, maybe twice.Seven, ten years later, it becomes the most valuable thing you have from that day.
