The place

A setting for your story.

A wedding venue built into a retired limestone quarry south of Franklin: sheer rock walls, water, and a scale you don't get anywhere else in Middle Tennessee. Aerial passes over the quarry walls put your day somewhere between a film set and a national park.

I come to a wedding day with four drones, and drone footage is included on both options when the venue allows it. Some videographers charge for it; we don't.

The rock walls don't change with the calendar, which makes Graystone one of the most season-proof outdoor venues around. The drama is built in. What changes is the light's angle: summer sun clears the walls late and lingers on the water, while fall and winter days go moody early.

From behind the camera

  1. The quarry walls are built-in scale. Aerial passes become the establishing shots
  2. Stone bounces sound: dedicated mics near the vows, backups always rolling
  3. Indoor and outdoor settings mean a rain plan that doesn't shrink the film
  4. The water line doubles every sunset shot. We frame for the reflection
  5. Aerials happen before guests arrive. The drone never buzzes your ceremony
  6. The planning call maps which level of the property each chapter of your day lives on, so the film moves smoothly between them

From morning to night

Let the day unfold.

  1. The morning

Aerial passes get filmed early, before guests arrive. The establishing shots of the quarry walls are in the can before anyone hears a drone.

  2. The ceremony

Stone bounces sound, so the vows get dedicated mics up close and backups rolling. The scale stays in the wide shots. The words stay clean.

  3. Golden hour

The water line doubles every sunset frame. We set the portraits where the reflection works for you, not against you.

  4. The night

After dark the venue glows against the rock: wide final frames with the walls holding the light, then the last dance and the exit.
